The newest offering from Longboat is Absentia. Loss is all part of our existence. Sometimes it feels like so many things are falling by the wayside and we have no control over our lives. But though this album highlights loss in unconventional ways, it points the way towards renewal. Loss is inevitable, but moving forward is an important part of life. This album doesn’t contain brooding meditations on what is missing, it merely lists the way we lose things. And the aftermath of those losses.

Stupid People
This song is about the poppiest thing I’ve ever written. The video was made by a guy in the UK, who has done great work in the past. Yes, the stupid people here are portrayed as Trump followers. You can always tell who they are. They dress up like flags, mostly. The tune is actually just a general observation about being around people who are profound idiots and how exhausting that is. It may be trolling, but you can dance to it.
